Bleak Night: Winner of the New Currents award at the 2010 Pusan Film Festival, the dark indie drama Bleak Night paints a brutally realistic portrait of broken friendship and teen discontent with fatal consequences. After high school student Gi Tae (Lee Je Hoon, from the gay indie hit Just Friends) takes his own life, his guilt-ridden father (Jo Sung Ha, Yellow Sea) tries to seek out answers. He learns that Gi Tae had two best friends - Dong Yoon (Seo Jun Young, Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho) and Hee Joon (Park Jung Min) - both of whom have been absent in the aftermath of Gi Tae's death. As the film jumps between events in the past and present, the father gradually learns what went wrong among the three friends, ultimately leading to the death of his son.
Detective Cho (Shin Hyeon-joon) is incompetent and always fails to be promoted. His only pleasures in life are spying on neighbors who are having affairs or binge drinking. One day, Cho comes across the corpse of what seems to be a child on a nearby mountain and he decides to investigate the case, thinking that this is his last chance to impress his boss.
Cho enlists the help of his partner, Detective Lee, and together the two embark upon an investigation that will test their professional judgement. The more they learn about the case, the more they come to suspect that the poverty-stricken father of the dead child is their killer. But the case goes off course when the two begin to sympathize with him.
With the number of child murders increasing every year in Korea, the film tackles a timely subject with compelling performances by actors including Shin and Jeon No-min, who is currently starring as a butler at a local conglomerate at MBC drama series “Royal Family.”
It is the first film directed by filmmaker Min Byeong-jin and the first film produced by Shin, who has been active in film industry for the past two decades. Shin established a production company of his own last year and this crime drama is its first offering.

Children's musical theater director Il-han is offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to audition for the $10 million Broadway-bound blockbuster musical "The Great King Jung-jo". Also auditioning is Young-gwang, a half-Korean and half-Filipino child, who is gifted with a spectacular voice, honed without any specialized training. Young-gwang nonetheless believes that he will win the coveted role. Incredibly, he earns a spot in the final round of audition. Il-han works hard to create a masterpiece and together with Young-gwang, they form a dazzling duo. However, soon regretting his decision, Il-han travels to the Philipines to find back his teammate.

In-mo is an unsuccessful film director with nothing going for him in life. He's been out of work since his firm flopped at the box office and he was abandoned by his wife. Just when things can't any worse and he can't make rent, his nonchalant mother extends a helping hand. She offers him a place to live and In-mo is glad to take her upon it. In-mo's older brother, Han-mo, a former gangster and five-time convict has already settled in comfortably as a jobless couch potato and soon, their twice-divorced, adulterous sister, Mi-yeon, joins them with her preteen daughter, Min-gyeong. At home once again, the grown-up siblings are forced to live with each other.
